A Week in Blessings

Whew. Last week got away from me like an out-of-control fire hose. But now it’s time to take a breath and look back on the little joys. As always, it’s too easy, especially during those fire hose weeks, to think only of those things not going well. This is about celebrating the wonderful.

I hope you’ll join me and leave a note on your own blessings this past week.

My best friend was finally released from the hospital, and all the really horrible possibilities seem to have been averted.

Taking myself out to dinner by myself. I really need to do this sort of thing more often.

Two mule deer on the trail who stopped and watched me run past not more than three feet away from them.

A friend and colleague’s daughter was born, and all went well.

A fair bit of writing that I am almost certain does not suck.

Now it’s your turn. What were your blessings this week?

A tough week to find blessings in. One day this will all make a marvelous story. However…

I was able to write at least three poems that do not suck (i /think/)

One of my favorite author’s, Danielle Trussoni (Angelology), emailed me a kind comment!

One of my favorite poets, Ada Limon, sent me a kind comment!

I got a new Jim Harrison poetry collection in the mail to review.

And, as always, reading your posts makes the writer’s life seem a little less impossible.

    Best,
    -Marty

That’s so nice of you to say! And congratulations on finding blessings even in a tough week.
